About the authors

Project Management Institute

The Project Management Institute (PMI) is a US nonprofit professional organization for project management. The PMI provides services including the development of standards, research, education, publication, networking-opportunities in local chapters, hosting conferences and training seminars, and providing accreditation in project management.

PMI has recruited volunteers to create industry standards, such as "A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge", which has been recognized by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). In 2012 ISO adapted the project management processes from the PMBOK Guide 4th edition.

The PMBOK is a thin guide that can be read in a short amount of time. To pass the exam the key really is taking practice exams & studying the areas you are weak in. If you join PMI as a member you are given the PMBOK Guide free. I learned that late after already purchasing the guide from Amazon.

There are a few terms like the NPS which are repeated in 2 different places. But all in all, the document is very easy to understand. The boxes with quick summary are helpful. The feedback window is not taken at the right time and it is strict and model - which is not a good practice to calculate the CSI. So, this review was not taken at the right time and I could not skip it.
