Gym Junkie

I’ve fantasised what it would be like to be with a man like Brock Marx, more than I care to admit.

He's sexy, dominant and built like a machine. But worse than that, he’s witty and intelligent.

He makes me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.

Everything I thought I ever wanted doesn’t makes sense anymore.

I wanted him to be another dumb Gym Junkie, the look but don’t touch kind.

But he’s not…and I did. What now?

You have done it again, Ms. Swann! Took there, tossed me around in a ball of confusion and turmoil.

While I am still salivating over the very first book in the Stanton series, I must say that this one gave me the thrills and chills as you brought us and gave us a conclusion to the TC caper.

If you have not read a book that holds you and wraps, no swallow you up in one big gulp, then you need to read the Stanton book series. Hopefully, you'll get so caught up that you forget they are stories made up of characters. You think you know them personally and are part of the group dynamic that T.L. Swann has so adequately described. Not to mention the steamy sex scenes. Once the characters referenced a song, I couldn't help but start reading the books along with my musical playlists. There were so many songs that just fit with the story

Ok, now on to the next book. Thank you again, T.L.!

I really enjoyed the story between Brock and Tully. Brock is a possessive alpha male and Tully seems to be a delicate and romantic girl who wants to enjoy her life before getting back together with her Ex. What she didn’t know was that something was missing in that relationship otherwise she wouldn’t have had the need of looking for something new. She met Brock in the Gym and they felt the attraction immediately. After a rough beginning, Brock started showing a soft and gentle side of him that I didn’t expect to see. He did everything right everything that Tully asked of him and then when you think things are going perfect and too good that’s when she decided to dump him to take care of her ex boyfriend. I do understand that she was in a long term relationship but she could have handle that better. This is the first time I see the Hero getting hurt. It broke my heart. How angry and mean Brock became to Tully. There are parts of the book that is also hilarious for example when Meredith (Tully’s new friend) told Brock that she can’t drink beer because it makes her vagina smells or that Tully didn’t need a man since they all bought huge vibrator!!! OMG the things that would come out of her mouth were off the hook. At the end Tully had to work hard again to regain Brock trusts but at least they got their Happy Ever After

I absolutely enjoyed the banter in this book. It made me laugh, cry at one point and it was real at some times. Brock telling the boys about his weekend of the “time-out” had me in tears! Probably favorite ny TL Swan, enough that i am actually writing a book review!!

I like the characters and the relationships. Good sex scenes. I didn’t like the ending. It was way too short.

Brock Marx is hot, hot, hot!

Brock Marx owns and runs a very exclusive private investigator agency called Marx Security. Tully Scott is a Forensic Scientist with the Federal Police Force. Both meet in a gym! 😂 Both feel an intense sexual attraction to each other and decide that going to the gym might be even more fun than they thought possible.

The story is told from both lead character’s points of view giving readers a valuable insight into what they are thinking, why they do the things they do and how they are feeling. It also enables the mystery of the murdered prostitutes to have pieces of the puzzle intricately woven throughout the story, very cleverly executed too.

At times, I have to be honest, I just cracked up at the humour in the story, especially some of the scenes with Meredith..so so funny. There is quite a lot of fun banter between characters as well, especially the male ones, often sarcastic humour but witty none the less. The counter balance is the seriousness of the investigation into the deaths of the prostitutes as well as Tully’s relationship woes with Simon.

You certainly go through a whole range of emotions with the characters, from laughing with happiness and crying with sadness to your heart racing with fear and raging in anger. As well the passion is super charged and off the charts flaming red hot.

This is one incredible story about an alpha who has never had a relationship and an all in or nothing committed type of woman.

I love Brock & Tully

Honestly I see a theme in all stories, that of strong woman who know their worth. As a women who struggles with feeling worthy in all ways I am very much appreciative of the reminder over and over in so many different examples with your stories. In the moments when they don’t give in for some instant gratification and rather hold true to themselves they get more than they could have ever asked for. It’s where I’m at in my life currently and hard choices need to be made so I’m taking notes and using it in my life so thank you for a guide book on how I need to act it’s amazing

The bantering was cute and unique. It was very entertaining and unexpected. I wish there were more books similar to this. It’s light and there was action too.

Very stimulating reading!!!

I have now read almost all of Swan's books and have enjoyed each and every one, however, as an avid, lifelong reader I have to say the editing of all of them is atrocious. I was astounded by the egregious grammatical errors. Someone needs to go through each one with a fine toothed comb and fix them. My comments apply to all but the Miles High series. I love all her story lines and characters but the poor editing really is distracting to an avid reader.

Great, escapism alpha romance

Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2023

I’ve seen some other reviews about how the lead male is too aggressive and a stalker. Give me a break. It’s fiction, and incase you couldn’t tell by the cover, this guy isn’t going to make you a cup of tea before bed. The story is well written and continues with some of the same characters from her other novels. I did wish the ending wasn’t wrapped up so quickly, but that’s the only critique.

Selfish and wishy washy behavior was bothersome

Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2022

This book was the coupling of two protagonists, Tully and Brock who were not likeable people from the beginning. It was told in dual POVs, but mostly in Tully's. Tully and Brock were in instant lust mode once they met. After a couple of intense physical encounters, they decided to pursue a relationship. I started to change my opinion of Brock when he began to change himself to become a better partner for Tully, but Tully never changed her selfish and wishy washy behaviors. In the background was an interesting murder mystery which was nicely tied into the romance. However, Tully's adolescent behavior bothered me so much. I felt Brock should have stuck with his decision to walk away from her towards the end. Couples should work together to make decisions, not as individuals.
