Jetta (Pack of Misfits)

I’m kind of a bitch, but you would be too if you had my life.

I was taken as a baby and trained to become an elite member of Troupe Delirium. My time with them is as permanent as the damn collar on my neck. Until Heathcliff helps me escape.

I have nothing but the clothes on my back and the good sense to get as far away as I can. But then I stumble into someone else’s territory and get snagged by a shifter-happy cop who brings me to a pack.

Pack Aberrant. The only shifter pack in the world that would actually be willing to help me. Before I know it, I’m getting attached to an enforcer and I’m fighting for these misfits who somehow thawed my heart.

But I know better. My old master is coming for me, and Heathcliff...I can’t ever really move on without Heathcliff. I guess I won’t really need to, though. There’s no way I’m making it out of this alive.

Author's Note: This is book 3 in the Pack of Misfits series. Every story is a stand-alone, but it is best if you start with Addie's book. Each book will have a different mate dynamic. (M/F, RH, or Menage.) Intended for mature audiences 18 years and older. Expect a take-no-shit female, humor, heat, and plenty of action. This one is a wild ride.

Jetta

Jetta is officially a misfit! I’ve been waiting to read this book since Jetta was introduced in book 1. Jetta is seriously rough around the edges, some would say even a B$&*!completely different from Addie and Reece. She does have redeeming qualities like loyalty, strength, resilience, and a tender spot for the guy she loves.

Jettas story is completely different too. Where I feel like the first two books were Romance, I didn’t feel like this book was. Of course there was romance thrown in, but this book was a whole lot of action & adventure, ups & downs, anger & sadness. We learned a lot about Jettas history with Troupe Delirium and how she was raised.

We do learn about Jettas first love Heathcliff and get to be there for her new Romance with Jericho. Jericho is my homeboy! He’s funny and isn’t easily deterred.

This was a great story and I can’t wait to read more misfits.

Without The Dark There Can Be No Light

First and foremost I absolutely love Raven Kennedy’s writing. The way she paints a story is phenomenal and the humor along the way makes you connect with her books and cheer on the characters she’s created the whole way.

I was pulled in by Jetta’s story, the heart breaking moments she’s had to endure in her life are ones most of us can relate to and because of that you feel like you can understand the choices and internal struggles she has to face throughout her story.

Sadly, I was disappointed that the humor was there, but definitely not on the level that I know Raven is capable of and that keeps her readers so enthralled in her writings. It takes immense talent to be able to capture a reader in your story but to add unique humor along the way is another feat in itself.

I was originally going to subtract a star for this but I honestly just CAN’T. And the reason being is because this story is so flawlessly constructed. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. When you read between the lines you can clearly see that it was intentionally written so that the anguish, self doubt, internal struggles, and the hesitancy to trust, hell the hesitancy to really even LIVE that Jetta faced could be seen and even felt in the very fiber of the readers hearts and souls. This in turn goes even farther than Jetta’s story alone and gives a valuable perspective readers should have on the Pack of Misfits world as a whole.

Because of course in life you can’t have the light, without the dark.

You guessed it, another 5 star review for one of my all time favorite series. I love the misfit crew, this pack is like nothing I've read before, close, but unique in a way that it's one of the best pack books out there. I've read books with a shifter falling for another, but not an entire pack where no to animal shifter is the same, you literally have a sloth, tiger, duck, hog, skunk, pack rat, you get my drift, and this isn't even half the lot! It's so amazing, each and every story! And each love dynamic. I loved jettas, it was darker, but we all knew it would be, and finding out about heathcliff, my heart hurt and rejoiced when it was all said and done. Jetta deserved her happy ending, and Jericho! I loved him so much, although we didn't get to see cliff as much as Jericho, we understand the difference between the two, two sides soft and hard, and I'm all for the hard. And yet, I understood and appreciated her needed that soft, it was beautifully written and I can't wait for the next book in the series. If I'm truly honest, I got a itch to scratch with igor and the alpha, lol. It's killing me to find out what kinda mates these two hard men get!

The best one so far!

I’m a huge Raven Kennedy fan, there are only a few of her books I have not read, and I am just now getting around to reviewing them. I have not been big on reviewing authors, and then I looked back at my profile and saw I have mostly negative reviews and that’s not really how I am. So I decided to go to my favorite books that I read in 2021 and leave positive reviews for them. I’m starting with this one since I just finished it. Raven Kennedy has some of the most fleshed out characters, and cohesive storylines I have encountered. Keep in mind my Kindle says I read 396 books in 2021, and that’s not including my college text books and physical copy books, so clearly I’m a reader. Jetta is my favorite character so far in this series, because she is so broken when we meet her, and despite everything she has been through she still fights. Yes, she’s a prickly pear, but it’s not without reason, and that’s just her front, to protect herself from the pain she expects from everyone around her. While I laughed more with the first two books, I couldn’t help but to connect deeply with Jetta, and I felt her story was more impactful for me, because I understand where she is coming from. While my story is no where near as dramatic as Jetta’s is, I can connect with her character more so than some others. This is not a lighthearted book, but it will grab you from the beginning and hold on to you tightly for the whole ride. By the end, you’ll feel like Jetta and Heathcliff have more than earned their happiness. I also have to say how much I adored Freddie (Spawn) and he was the perfect bridge to show how despite her gruffness she really does have a heart, and is just as caring and protective as the other members of pack Aberrant.

Can a runaway punk really find a home and maybe love with the misfits???

I did like this book and it was more of a 4.5 star read for me but the first 60% of the book was a little boring to me and didn't grab my attention that much. I think the reason for that was because the first 60ish % was the first 2 books but I'm Jetta's POV so I kinda knew what was going on but no specifically with Jetta during that time and I was really wanting to know what happened after the end of Reese's book compared to what was happening during it. With that aside I really did like Jetta, she most defiantly wasn't a warm and fuzzy kinda girl and was more or less forced away from the only life and love she ever knew while knowing the whole time this freedom is only going to last so long before she's right back. I also really liked that Jericho and Heathcliff each brought out a different side in Jetta and they each were what she needed, even if she didn't know it yet. Another thing I did like about this was that we learned more about this world the story is set in, we meet more of the different kinds of Canes that exist in this world, hopefully we are more in coming books because the ones we meet only have us a taste of the different Canes. Overall this was a good book and I did enjoy it but I did get a little bored during the beginning until we got to the new happenings within the timeline. I really can't wait to see what happens next with these misfits, I mean there's still a lot we can learn (mostly I really wanna know who the graffiti artist is and what some of the pack shifts into).

all the things

loved this book. I love that the author was able to successfully write such a dark and serious character without sacrificing humor. so many funny moments. when her animal meets Jericho's for the first time was a particular favorite. so freaking hilarious. I may have snorted.

I am really enjoying this series. it's just so different. Kennedy has managed to merge angst and humor, serious issues and the ridiculous, so seamlessly that it's hard to believe they don't technically belong together, that they are opposites. it's not contrived or forced or cliche. it feels natural (as natural as a paranormal story can be). it's sooo good. by then end, it's amazing to think that you have dealt with deep dark issues when you were having so much fun. but this series really does tackle some heavy topics. and they aren't glossing over them, they are real parts of the characters and the story, but those things don't drag the characters down. they are dealing with them, yes, and struggling sometimes, but they don't let it stop them from living. it doesn't define them, which is a choice they have made. love it.

I did take away one star here because I didn't have one complaint. I didn't feel like the menage relationship was dealt with as well as it could have been. two guys who had never met before, in love with the same woman, and there was no fighting? no tension between them when it was suggested that they share? that was a bit rushed, I felt.

other than that, I can't find a single problem. loving this series. can't wait for more.

I loved this book until the end, and then it just felt forced. I loved Jetta as a character. I loved that the woman was the grumpy one in the situation. She stayed true to who she was, until the end. I think my biggest hang-up was that we didn't get to know Healthcliff. We saw him for a tiny bit in the beginning and then in a couple of flashbacks, but none of that was enough to make us love him. He and Jetta were together out of necessity. Jetta and Jericho were together because of attraction and respect. I know the author explained that Jetta had two sides, and Heathcliff and Jericho were supposed to represent those two sides, but I don't agree with that. Cliff was her past. Her first love. Her person who got her through the torture. However, Jetta changed as a person. She grew, and Jericho was who she turned to. He was dominant, but he was also soft. He saw both sides of her and loved them. He gave her both sides, soft and hard. Cliff felt like an intruder at the end. I wish they would have recognized that their relationship ended when he sent her away. I wish Cliff would have gotten his own book. He would have matched great with a couple of the women who had been tormented in their pasts and needed an overly sweet/sensitive guy. It was obvious that neither Cliff nor Jericho were meant to share. I'm so disappointed in this ending. *This book is rated R. The F word is used multiple times. There is violence and abuse. There are also detailed spice scenes.

I loved the storyline on this one!! Out of the three I think it was written the best, but maybe just because it was the longest, so we got more backstory and more world building. I really liked the Troupe Delirium plot though. My heart hurt for Jetta and Cliff and the tragedy of their forbidden love. I do wish we could have gotten more time with the three of them together, but it worked with the story. I hope Raven writes more of these soon!!

Darker than the first two books

We met Jetta in the first Misfits book and now we got to see her past in the troupe and find out if she'd ever be free from Kaazu.

Jetta has been abused her entire life so she's not friendly or open like Addie and Reese. She's strong and used to only depending on herself. I liked that she was a great fighter and not afraid to take someone down. Occasionally I thought she was being overly mean and selfish, especially with the other females of the pack.

Jericho is funny and the only outside person who could fit so well with her. He likes their fighting and doesn't let her prickly attitude get to him. Heathcliff was barely in this which was unfortunate. I wish we'd seen more of him than a couple chapters.

Once again, the climax of the story seemed like it was over too quickly. The fight scene was cool, I just wish there was more build up and a bit more struggle.
