Nothing prepared me for meeting Brady Ryan.I’ve been called football royalty my entire life.

Born into a family that has experienced the highs and lows of the game.Constantly surrounded by football players. Professional players. College Players. Coaches.I’m supposed to be spending this year finding myself, but can I do that with him by my side or is he just another player?

Natalie Sinclair came into my world and changed my life.

Her father was the new professional coach in town, and her twin brother played on my team. This tiny dancer fit into our circle of friends like she was the missing piece.Neither of us might have been looking for something serious, but that changed the day we met.Now nothing can keep her from me. Not her twin brother. Not the threats of a jealous ex. Not even myself. Now I just need to convince her.

She’s it for me.

She’s the end game.

I’m all in.

This is where it all begins. I started with the Playing to Win series and went back to read the first novels. I absolutely love reading their origin stories! Brady is so sweet with Nat, and I adore the protectiveness of Cooper, Bash, and Murphy. Definitely worth the read.

Brother's best friend and teammate Reformed playboy

Natalie moves back home to be with her brother and father. She meets Brady, her brother's best friend and teammate the night she returns. They are both immediately drawn to one another, but she doesn't know what he wants and he's trying to convince himself he doesn't need her. He's focused on football and doesn't want to mess up with her brother. One terrible night at a party changes that for both of them. I love a hero that seems hardened on the outside but is really just a big softy internally. He is like that with her. I also loved the way he was with his sister and his friends. The group of guys is tight and I'm excited to read about their stories. Natalie was a fun character as well. She was strong and smart. I loved that she stood strong with what she wanted, and she stood up for herself when she needed to. For a first novel this was fantastic and is a great start to the series.

Super cute romcom with found family, protective siblings/parents, and the reality women deal with every day. I appreciated the autism representation and what it’s like to be a caregiver as I’ve been one myself. Overall super cute and a HEA ending.

Family is not always blood. Family is who close to you any has your back. Coop, Bash, Murphy, & Bradyare boys turn to men who bonded together over football and friendship and became one big family. Loved it

For me, this was just an ok book. If the characters were just a little bit older than high school age, then the storyline wouldn't seem so cringe-worthy. I'm no prude. I know young people are not angels these days, but these kids basically had no adult supervision. The parties. The drinking. It was a bit over the top.

I loved Nattie and Brady’s story ❤️ I love a good brothers best friend and the “forbidden-ness” of it. Nattie is off limits being the little sister of star football player for Kroyden Hills. I loved the development of their love and how he rescued her in the beginning and gave her all the time she needed.

I started Bella’s universe from the beginning because I was told it’s best and it’s been a great ride so far!! I am in love with all of Bella’s characters and can’t wait to read each of their books!

Fun story, but…

I enjoyed the story, but I’m not a fan of that line about “girls you take home to marry and girls you use and toss aside” that the hero thought about in the early part of the book. It’s a perpetuation of the mindset that certain women are objects to the used and tossed aside, because they are deemed “less than”. It’s at the heart of America’s problem with pervasive rape culture. No woman is ever better than or less than another. By teaching our kids, especially sons, this attitude, it’s like handing them a permission slip to harm the women they view as “less than”…like they’re entitled to take what they want because certain women/girls are subhuman. But sometimes a girl wears a tight top or short skirt because her boobs and legs grew faster than her parent’s budget for new clothes. Sometimes a girl’s self-esteem has been irreparably damaged by the people that should protect her and she doesn’t know she’s worthy of respect just because she exists. It is NEVER okay to classify anyone as a throwaway. And it was disappointing to read the “hero” thinking that way.

Brady and Nattie❤️

So I started reading Bella Matthews books at the Defiant Kings series and everything since then! So I figured while waiting for The Knockout I’d go and read her back list! Get a sense for all the other characters mentioned and know their stories! And I’m so glad I did! I loved Brady and Nattie so much! Their love burned fast and bright and I was there for it!

Nattie returned home after leaving her dance company! So she’s now back at her dad’s house living with her twin brother who plays football for Kroydon Prep. Having a football star brother comes with its quirks cause he has hit friends, and one is the QB! Brady is the star QB for Kroydon Prep and when he first lays eyes on his best friends twin sister, he knows it’s over for him…she’s his.

This book was so cute and sweet! Their group of friends had me wanting in with their group lol They all were so funny and caring and would go to bat for each other! When something happened at the beach house to Nattie they were all there to help her through it! We also all need a friend like Chloe! Brady and Nat were so adorable and he worshipped the ground she walked on! He would do anything for her and vice versa! Now on to Murphy’s book…this should be a good one 😂

It was cute. I’m a sucker for brothers best friend. It all seemed a little rushed, especially with third act conflict being at the way end and was resolved super fast.
