I've always thought I was the problem in my relationships and turns out I was right! While he spends the first several chapters showing all the ways in which you ARE the problem, which I didn't need to be convinced of, he does help me understand how and why I'm the problem. Then he starts moving on to solutions.

This book is a very easy to read way to look hard at ALL your relationships, and what YOU can do to make them better. This isn't a guide to communicate better, or argue better, or give to someone you're having trouble with. This is about how YOU can bring your best to all of YOUR relationships.

I am a licensed clinical therapist in the US, going on 22 years of practice. Coming across Gary's work has been a game changer for me personally and I'm passing it on to my own patients. I appreciate Gary's no-nonsense, no-bullshit approach to being real with people. He delivers coaching in a way that provokes deep thought, encourages ownership, and includes valid research from well know philosophers and psychologists. I have not come across any other work that has provoked deeper personal reflection, and I have great appreciation for the empowering change process at this stage of my life.
