From Wall Street Journal, BookTok, and #1 Amazon bestselling author T L Swan comes the new edition of the scorching second installment of her fan-favorite Mr. Series.

Spencer Jones was gorgeous, older, and had the worst reputation in all of England.

The way he looked at Charlotte sent shivers down her spine.

Their first meeting was at a wedding, where he followed her outside and kissed her.

Their second meeting ended in a huge fight with her kicking him out.

Their third meeting, she went on a double, blind date.

You can imagine her surprise when she saw familiar blue eyes across the table opposite her friend.

Oh…no…

He was sarcastic and witty and damn, If he wasn’t the sexiest bastard she had ever laid eyes on.

Then he sent her an email listing thirty reasons why she should go on a date with him.

She was expecting a suave and intelligent list. Curious, she read on.

Reason 1 – I have white teeth.

Reason 2 – I love my grandma.

Reason 3 – I have a size 13 shoe – you do the math.

The man’s a fool, his list had some of the most ridiculous things she’d ever read.

And the funniest.

They laughed hard…and loved harder.

You can outrun everything……except your past.

And his has caught up.

Wild handsome players don’t fall for innocent girls like her, Or do they?

I love how the author mixes emotions throughout the story. Love when there is a tense moment and suddenly a spontaneous joke is dropped in the middle. Love love this story.

Oh boy!

Oh boy! It's obviously a great book when the author:

  1. Makes you fall in love with a main character from the get-go.
  2. Leaves you so peeved off by the end of the book that you just have to rant somewhere!

I have never loved a book and been more frustrated with a heroine at the same time IN. My. Life!

So right off the bat, I fell in love with Mr. Spencer. His witty comebacks and his smarta$$ed mouth won me over but it was his protective personality that caught me hook line and sinker. From the firm way he set the ground rules with her bodyguards to the way he handled her family, I was swooning. I've been dying to find a hero with a primal edge like this! This man is perfection wrapped in a big red bow. He was devoted, willing to put in any amount of effort to prove his worth and his love despite having never felt these feelings before and tip-toeing in unchartered territory, yet he never gave up.

Oh, and I loved the comic relief courtesy of Sebastian and Julian! Those morning breakfast meetings were priceless!

In the beginning and for roughly 85% of the book I loved Charlotte. I loved her innocence and her potential. I loved how she was blossoming and learning to stand on her own. I just needed a little more from her. I needed to see her rise to the occasion when Spencer needed her most. And yet in two instances where Charlotte could have stepped up, she doubted him. Doubted his love, his honesty, and his intentions. I have never been so p*ssed with a character as I was with her when that final "big" thing happened. I mean seriously?!?!? Can you tell I'm fiercely protective of my favorite heroes?!?!?!?

Anyway, if you can't tell, I loved the book. I was consumed with it from the get-go and I'm so thankful I read it. Yes I was peeved with the heroine...ok I still am- she's the one that doesn't deserve him insert grumpy angry face here...but it doesn't change the fact that I loved it. Spencer was everything and is now a proud member of my top #7 ultimate book boyfriends list! Don't hesitate to jump into this one just because I ranted a bit about Charlotte. I promise Spencer will make it all worth it!

So Angsty... So Good!

4 1/2 Stars!

Looking for an angsty read that you won't be able to put down? Mr. Spencer by T L Swan is the book for you! I wasn't sure what I was going to get with this book to be honest. The blurb drew me in, but I was seriously thinking it was just going to be a bad boy/good girl love story. Boy was I wrong! Is Spencer a playboy? Sure.. but is he so much more than that? OMG Yes! Is Charlotte a "good girl"? Also yes, but she's lived a sheltered life, and as her and Spencer get to know one another they seem to balance one another out and become the perfect match. Sure things don't go perfectly for them the first few times they meet, but once things settle down, their chemistry and feelings for one another are undeniable. I adored how both of them had reservations about what they were getting into but for different reasons, but as soon as they let go, everything became ok. Spencer is so protective and loving towards Charlotte, and even if he's naive towards relationships, he does sit perfectly. He takes such good care of her, and even when he doesn't realize it, he loves her unconditionally. Charlotte on the other hand, she loves him, but she tries to hide him. Granted, her reasons are understandable, but when push comes to shove, I wish she would have been more open and honest with everyone involved as to what was going on, I don't know if it would have changed the outcome, but I think it would have saved some drama in this book. This book was extremely angsty, hot, and it did have some laugh out loud moments as well. Spencer and Charlotte's banter is hilarious and I would find myself giggling at some of their comebacks to each other. The secondary characters in this book also for the most part are amazing. Some of them though, well.. I was not a fan of, and if you read this, you'll understand as well. Like I said, I wasn't sure what I was getting into with this book, but I'm so freaking happy I picked this one up. It was beautifully written and the story just flowed in such an amazing way. I stayed up till all hours of the night reading this book, and falling in love with these characters. I can't recommend this book enough! The only downside I have with it, is that I felt the ending was rushed. Yes it is a long book, and I'm okay with that, but the ending just felt a bit too rushed, with all the build up and everything, I just felt a little let down with everything that had happened between Spencer and Charlotte for that to have been the ending. I wanted more! Other than that, I highly suggest picking up Mr. Spencer today, trust me, you will not regret it!

Charlotte can be quite dull

Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2024

This is the second book in the series but I liked Mr. Masters a lot better than this one. Mr. Spencer lacked the witty banter between the two main leads. The book started quite good as the good-girl Charlotte resisted the charms of manwhore, Spence. I liked how hard Spence had to work to get her attention and time. Once she fell for him, it became quite dull. The usual lovey-dovey talk and out-of-the-world sex. I wanted more from Charlotte. For someone who was a billionaire, she seemed easily impressed by Spence’s Greek vacation plan and expensive apartment. She was more wealthy than him.
