“A hellish heaven.” — Publishers Weekly, BookLife Editor’s Pick

She’s his sweetest desire...and his darkest secret. From Wall Street Journal bestsellers Parker S. Huntington and L.J. Shen comes a tantalizing forbidden romance between a broken Prince Charming and a disgraced Cinderella.

The task was simple. Sneak into Potomac's most heavily guarded manor. Steal back my pendant. Slip out.

Problem number one? America’s most unattainable bachelor caught me.

Problem number two? He decided to keep me. As the help.

Zachary Sun’s winter may be the coldest I’ve ever felt, but he makes my skin burn.

Reserved, calculated, and savagely cruel, he thrives on the weaknesses of others.

Little does he know, he just met his match.

He may be American royalty. But this peasant will rise to become Queen.

Authors’ Notes: My Dark Desire is a standalone double-grump romance between a broken billionaire and a feisty maid unafraid to fight back. It is set in the decadent Dark Prince Road world.

I can eat this type of romance for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

📕 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: My Dark Desire by Parker S. Huntington and LJ Shen.

📙 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: Dark Prince Road character series. Book 2.

📗 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀: E-book on Kindle. 🆓 on KU.

📘 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗲: Contemporary romance

📔 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀: Billionaire, enemies-to-lovers, broken MMC, suspense-lite, touch her and die, he falls first.

📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Farrow is reeling after the death of her father, and in the wake of her step mother selling all of his belongings. In her attempt to get back a prized pendant, she steals from Zachary Sun, a wealthy and mysterious billionaire with an aversion to touch who sees her as his anecdote.

🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: This character series has been absolutely delectable. Fairytale-coded, billionaire to the max, and just full of angst and tension. I absolutely devoured it.

Ok that’s probably too many food euphemisms, but seriously. I loved this book. Zach was a unique character, with a horrible back story and this incredibly vulnerable inner monologue. And Farrow was independent and witty and wonderful as well.

I loved the dynamic. I loved the unapologetic billionaire-ness of it all. I loved the story arch and the ridiculous happy ending.

Both books in this series have been legit. I’m only sad it took so long for me to pick them up.

𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹: 3.5/5 🌶🌶🌶

Love the gentlemen (?) of Dark Prince Road in this twisted Cinderella adaptation

I enjoyed the story of Zach and Farrow as these two very different people each deal with the deaths of their fathers in violent traffic accidents. Zachary is the wealthy son traumatized by being trapped under his dying father's body following an accident; Farrow's father died while she was competing in a fencing championship in Korea and her stepmother drained her bank account and cancelled her credit cards to prevent her from returning home for the funeral. The two cross paths when Farrow tries to steal a pendant once belonging to her father from the eccentric Zachary Sun's art collections. The spirited opposites meet and begin their battle for supremacy when Zach catches her in the act. Farrow escapes, leaving a battered shoe behind.

I enjoyed the characters in this story, and welcomed the reappearance of other characters from earlier stories involving residents of Dark Prince Road. Nice mixture of battling wits, contrasting family personalities, healing from past trauma, and revenge. However, my one big criticism is the grand gesture that comes before any HEA; it was too OTT , out of character for both of the MCs, and, frankly, overdone to the point that I personally would run the other way. Seriously, I almost deducted a star or two because I thought it was so badly done when compared to the rest of the book. In the case of this drawn out event, less would be more.

Otherwise, looking forward to Oliver's story.

Farrow may be Cinderella but Zachary Sun is no Prince Charming. The mission was simple sneak in to the most guarded manor and steal back the pendant without being caught. Unfortunately, the mission failed because America’s most unattainable bachelor caught Farrow and decided to keep her as the help. Zachary may be the coldest person but he makes her skin burn. Little does he know, he finally met his match but will this peasant rise to become queen?

You ever just craved something darker and the bookish urge won’t be satisfied till you find the perfect book for the mood??? This was me and let me tell you this book delivered but with a series called Dark Prince Road what else did I expect. Zach is definitely a morally grey MMC but like I am here for it like “touch her and ☠️” is one of my favorite dark romance troupes and shoot make them billionaires and it’s even better. Farrow was a BOSS and was totally not taking this man’s crap and like good for you sis cause sameee. I love seeing the characters from the first book because Dallas is definitely one of those besties I want in real life and now I’m just craving more. This is definitely a series I would recommend and when I Stan whenever Oliver’s book comes yall don’t be shocked 🤣🤣

This one is better than book 1, My Dark Romeo. It caught my attention from the beginning and I couldn't put it down.

Zach has such a traumatic storyline that makes him relatable and empathetic. Plus he's amazing good looking.

Farrow has her own trauma that matched Zach's so well. She's a strong FMC, which I personally love, who works hard for what she wants. They work so well as a couple.

The writing is done really well. The story flows and makes sense. The banter between the boys is still my favorite part of the books.

I can't wait to read Oliver's story. I just the sister is better than Dallas.

Something about this story…

So there’s something about Zach and Fae that silently spoke to me. It’s not a work of art and to be honest I should rate at four stars but I cannot put my finger on it but it’s a good read. I loved them, individually and as a couple (?)…I guess their banter and his unsuccessful need to try and control this strong and determined woman that gave it back to him…it just worked for me. I wasn’t crazy about Romeo and Dallas in the first book of this series but Zach and Fae, they had this smoldering fire that was so freaking delicious that I could not put the book down. And I’m not talking about sex although wtf was that scene in the pantry…uhm naw, anyway they had this intensity, hence the pantry scene, that was spellbinding in a weird but absolutely extreme and hopeful way that they would reach their HEA. The trauma each had to endure was so traumatic itself yet each was the antidote for the other. I enjoyed reading about Zach cultural practices and his mother with aunty who provided some levity to the storyline gave the read some depth. But the real reason I gave the full 5 ⭐️ rating is for the cover…SERIOUSLY, dude is FINE! Yes, I’m old school I get the word hot, but that mofo is FINE! DAAYUM, who is he and in my next life if there is one, can we meet with me younger and him a few years older, and can he become my loving, giving, trusting, caring, humorous, hygiene conscious, chef extraordinaire, with the intellect of a cosmologist, ready on a dime not needing time any day and any time, dedicated life-partner and baby daddy! I don’t care for cute or beautiful men, more into handsome (yeah this chick is the only one that needs a couple of hours to make an impactful appearance), but this guy is absolutely gorgeous! Whoever picked him I salute you! 😉

The most amazing chaotic emotional work of art I’ve ever read. I pulled an all nighter reading this, Started at 10 in the morning and didn’t finish till 7am the next day. This book made up for the lack of sleep. LJ and Parker did an amazing job on this story. I’m seriously left speechless. Farrow and Zach are truly the most amazing couple. Written in the stars and perfectly made for each other. The depth of emotion within the pages had me reaching for the tissue box quite a few times. Zach was struck with tradgedy and trauma at an early age. After being in a car wreck with his father and watching him die. Zach closed himself off from people , from touch and human affection, and from the world. Doing only what he needs to do to survive. Obey his mother and make sure she’s happy and doing what she’s asks because of guilt that rest on his shoulders. Everything changes when farrow enters the picture. Trying to steal back what belonged to her deceased father that Zach has kept away in his house. After a night of thievery and being caught what neither of them both knew was that Fallon was going to be his savior and healer. Seeing farrow slowly change him and bring him back to life is what truly made this book a masterpiece. LJ and Parker’s writing is truly incredibly. This books really just gives you everything you need. Darkness. Light, heat, intensity, emotion and humor to balance it all. I know we’re only 5 months into the year and with so much reading yet to do it’s all ready a top 5 favorite. I loved every second of this book. It’s one of those books that becomes apart of you and one you surely wont forget. I wasn’t sure if Romeo and Dallas’s Story could be topped, but it was, and if I’m raving about “my dark desire” I’m sure next book with Ollie is going to be even more amazing, ‘cause how can you tame that man ? If there’s one thing that need to keep happening is Shen and Parker need to keep writing books together. Their minds and writing is the absolute most perfect combo. So who ever reads this review please pick this book up and read it ( along with the others as well )

Where do I even begin!

This was very much like a cross between a Cinderella and a Beauty and the Beast retelling. Zachary Sun is a bazillionair with an extreme case of PTSD that causes him to have a visceral reaction to a human touch of any kind. Farrow Ballantine is a young woman who’s father passed away leaving her with an awful step mother and step sisters who is selling off all of her fathers belongings including a rare necklace and pendant that he had given her. When she finds out who bought it, she decides to steal it. When Zachary’s mom throws a huge party to fund Zach, a wife Farrow thinks it’s the perfect opportunity to sneak into the Sun mansion and take it, and she gets caught. To avoid jail, she agrees to work for Zach as a maid.

When I started reading this book, I truly didn’t like either Zach or Farrow, but I was intrigued enough to stick around, and I’m really glad I did. Zach and Farrows' story is not your average fairy-tale. These characters hold deep pain that really create the people they are. You learn very early what trauma Zach endured that caused a lot of issues for him. His mother certainly didn’t help matters feeding his guilt. Farrow, while extremely smart, talented, sassy, and full of grit, still had this vulnerable girl inside, just wanting to be loved and accepted. They had intense chemistry and together made one another stronger. The more I read their stories, the more I felt for them.

There was nothing ordinary about this romance, even with the beauty and the Beast /Cinderella vibes. The characters were unique. The twists were great, and I think the authors did a fantastic job weaving a story that was intriguing, steamy, humorous, emotional, and well written.

I’ve read My Dark Romeo 4 times so was really looking forward to this book. The first time I finished My Dark Romeo within the same day. As for My Dark Desire, it took me 4 months from the first time I started reading it to finish the book. The beginning of the book was slow and I was not sure where it was headed. I also feel that the built up sexual tension between the 2 main characters came out of no where starting half way into the book. I thought this book was entertaining but didn’t make my top list and likely won’t read it again. I’m looking forward to the 3rd book.

This was a real page-turner, a fascinating read. Octi was a strong character, I loved her. The only thing I wished for was a more detailed break-up scene with Eileen. I wanted Zach to know how much of a fake she was.
