My Rules (Kingston Lane)

Ahhh Once again I have devoured a TL Swan book in one sitting. No lie! I have had no sleep!! I always want to be a character in one of her books and mourn the characters like crazy as I finish and then anxiously await for her next book to come actually getting mad at myself for reading the last so quickly!! But this one if you didn't want to move to Kingston Lane after Book 1 you'll be packing your stuff and moving there now wishing you had done it sooner!! I can't wait for Antonys story as well as all the Kingston Lane residents!

Finally. I'm sure others write this in their reviews too but I would be remiss if I didn't mention that one of the biggest reasons I love Ts books is because they are not predictable and she keeps you on your toes the entire time!!

I had to read my temptation again to get me ready for visiting Kingston lane again. Blake and Rebecca are featured in this one and it was hinted in the first book about Blake secretly loving her. Of course you wouldn't know it since he's such a player. Rebecca really wants to move on from the disaster of her marriage but the baggage of what her husband put her through makes her distrust any relationship she tries to have. On her dating app she states that she wants the fairy tale and I thought to myself don't we all. I found it particularly funny when Blake finally gets his shot with Rebecca and she tells him if they can go slow. He really doesn't know how to do that so he texts his two friends, Henley and Antony and they basically tell him that if the home run is not on the table he gets to go to third base with her. Blake asks Henley what that means and he says she gets to get off and you don't. Being the player that he is he is not used to going slow or third base but always hitting home runs so he is totally out of his element. He doesn't want to ruin this for Rebecca since he really cares for her which is new for him as well. This a delightful book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. But I like all of t l Swan's books

Blake and Rebecca's story was so beautifully written. They were great friends who decided to cross the friend line into lovers. Rebecca was coming out of a disastrous marriage, and Blake was the best friend who was picking up the pieces.

Blake was every woman's dream guy. He had adored Rebecca from afar and was willing to cross the line to love and protect her. Rebecca was always waiting for the other shoe to drop and didn't trust herself.

There are so many wonderful moments of love, passion, and friendship in the magical Kingston neighborhood where Blake and Rebecca lived. They had marvelous neighbors who were friends too. I loved this feature so much.

I couldn't put the book down and I didn't want it to end.

✨Thoughts✨ Returning to Kingston Lane was so much fun. We finally get Rebecca and Blake's story. They had been neighbors and close friends for quite some time. When Rebecca's marriage came to an end, their mutual friends thought that Blake would finally confess his feelings. However, both Rebecca and Blake were hesitant to make a move, fearing that their attraction for each other might jeopardize their friendship.

♥︎ Blake and Rebecca were in this constant dance of "will they or won't they." They circled around each other, hesitant to take the plunge. It was both frustrating and amusing to watch them navigate their feelings. Blake's playful nature added a touch of fun to the mix. The build-up was gradual, but once Blake and Rebecca finally let their guard down, the sparks flew.

🎧The dual narration by CJ Bloom and Marcio Catalano was excellent. They did a fantastic job bringing all our favorite characters to life. Their narration added depth to the story.

♥︎ If you enjoy friends-to-lovers with hints of fun neighborhood drama, then this is an audiobook you need to listen to.

H: Dr. Blake Grayson h: Rebecca Dalton This is book 2 of this series. Rebecca has been single for over a year after her husband was cheating with his secretary for months. We left book 1, where Blake came to her rescue. Since then they were best friends but Blake is and has been in love with Rebecca from the beginning. They finally decided to give each other a try. I like the story but at the same time I don't like it. Being that Blake is a player (male slut) & Rebecca was married to one, for her to jump back to someone similar to her 1st husband was just weird and the author had no problem reminding us of it every chance it gets. So they are finally together, they seem happy but she was still living in her past where she felt Blake would hurt her at some point-it was only a matter of time when in reality she ended up hurting and pushing him away. For somebody who is insecure she had no problem knowing Blake slept with half the world (yes I'm exaggerating) but little things he would do with Rebecca like grabbing her hand and laying it on his lap, it was the same thing he would do with his other women. Nothing was unique to this relationship (seems at least to me) but overall I did like it and I can't wait to read book 3

I love TL Swan. I usually enjoy every single one of her books and enjoy every twist and turn and beautiful story. This book was wonderful for the first half. It took a dive towards red flag nation. Blake Had this venom in him that was horrible and I have a hard time thinking that most women will be able to desire to be loved by someone who would treat them like that. It’s just upsetting. I’m sad to say it but it’s true.
