Went into this with low expectations and was totally surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Should not disappoint most fans of the genre.

Starts off like most litrpgs can and do but the concept and way things play out through the book is well thought out and interesting and if you have the chance double listen with the audio book as well you will not regret it in my opinion.

The Primal Hunter vol. 1

I have always liked the LitRPG genre without knowing what it was called. I often find books in the Japanese light novel sections to scratch that itch. But this book was on a whole different level. It didn't feel like it was written for a child, it was well thought through not leaving gaps or chinks in the plot. The progression was perfect in my opinion. In some of these types where you have many characters sometimes it can feel like a slog to get through peoples stories that aren't the main character. But I thought this was really well balanced in that when I as the reader wanted to go back to following the main character it seems like the author would know that and switch it back. Anyways, I digress, it was absolutely amazing!

Very well put together story and character development. Skills are good and not too overpowered. Good progression and clear goal progress.

Kept me interested the whole time, loved the suspense building. Characters were memorable and had good motivations to their changes and growth.

It’s a really fun take on the genre

It’s a solid read. The genre of transmigration game-like rpg’s are a very popular one right now, and I think this is one of the best. It feels much more character focused than in others like solo-leveling, while having better pacing than others like shield-hero. The main character and the others feel like real people. It’s very fast paced, to its benefit and against it slightly (since the book takes place over a time period of less than two months). Finally, it teases a lot of very interesting tidbits about the world in general. All in all, great read. One complaint I have is that some side-characters, though characterized well, don’t have enough time to shine. My only other is that the books feels like it things happened in too short of a time. These are very minor complaints though. Give it a read, you won’t be disappointed.

Entertaining and unique

I like fantasy/sci-fi books and this one is pretty good but relies on a more rpg type gaming system. The character development is good and there are realistic/likable characters. There are also characters to hate if that’s your thing. The story line keeps you on your toes and isn’t too predictable. The only reason I didn’t the book 5 stars is because I wish the scenes were more descriptive so I know what the author is envisioning. An example is the forest, which you didn’t find out was humid until like two-thirds the way through. I hate generating a picture in my mind just for the author to bring up a detail later that completely alters how I envisioned it. Other than that it’s pretty entertaining. Would be good for younger teens that like video games. Def reading book 2

Fun isekai litrpg, after all

This is a pretty good series, after all. It’s good light reading with fun action and an understandable game system, after all. Also, anything read by Travis Baldree is going to be good fun, after all. I’m interested in seeing how Jake’s story progresses, after all.

I just wish Zogarth would end sentences with “after all” less often, after all.
