An instant bestseller!

She thought she had her life back. She was wrong. A gripping debut thriller perfect for fans of Natalie D. Richards and Vincent Ralph.

It was a mistake to trust him.

Shivering and bruised, a teen wakes up on the side of a dirt road with no memory of how she got there―or who she is. A passing officer takes her to the police station, and not long after, a frantic man arrives. He's been searching for her for hours. He has her school ID, her birth certificate, and even family photos.

He is her father. Her name is Mary. Or so he says.

When Lola slammed the car door and stormed off into the night, Drew thought they just needed some time to cool off. Except Lola disappeared, and the sheriff, his friends, and the whole town are convinced Drew murdered his girlfriend. Forget proving his innocence, he needs to find her before it's too late. The longer Lola is missing, the fewer leads there are to follow…and the more danger they both are in.

Megan Lally

Megan Lally is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of That’s Not My Name. When she’s not writing dark and twisty young adult novels you might find her barefoot at the ocean, drinking one too many lavender lattes, or arguing about the validity of glitter as a favorite color. (It’s absolutely a color, and it’s the best one.)

She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her family and four chaotic animals.

The story grips you from the beginning, squeezing and squeezing until the very end.

Pros: Hooks you from the start. The writer maintains a good balance of mystery and angst. I love that the FMC caught inconsistencies quickly. She wasn't dumb or unaware, more naive and trusting, which made sense. It was annoying as all get out but made complete sense. The author gave me so many clues about how the story would end that I'm kicking myself for not catching it sooner. The tension in this story was developed very well.

Cons: I hate the sheriff.

I read this book in a day. I simply could not put it down. It's a very well told story that had my emotions going haywire. A must read.

Get ready for a mystery!!

Wow this book had me at the first chapter. Then the bread crumb trail that lead you to one heck of a twist. Really good.

Get ready to put on your sleuthing hat and find a missing girl. One minute she is there the next she is gone. Did her boyfriend really do it?!!!

This book had a handful of characters but they were enjoyable and well developed. I kind of caught on to the twist but the ride was so much fun.

I will say that this was YA and you could tell. I felt like something was missing. So close to being a 5 star read. It felt very middle/high school sleuthing. I think this is a fun read.

I loved the actual make up of the book. The print was dark, pages thick/crisp, and the flip was perfect. I absolutely bought this book due to the cover as well.

Worth the internet hype

This one sucks you in right away. It’s not so much a popcorn thriller because the chapters vary in length. But it’s definitely fast paced. The story is told in Dual POV, with “Mary” being found on the side of the road with no memories and Drew, a teen convinced his girlfriend is still alive and doing his best to prove she’s alive and clear his name. This book took some twists and it’s definitely not the ending I expected.

I used to read books and think “What if that happened to me” and now I wonder what if it was my daughter. The main storyline is easy to predict, but the slight twist makes it crazy. This is a very fast read that hooks you from the beginning. The three teenagers remind me of the kids in the movie Max (except there is no dog)
