THE INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER!

A glorious and tantalizing new escape from #1 New York Times bestselling author Carley Fortune.

This summer theyโ€™ll keep their promise. This summer they won't give into temptation. This summer will be different.

Lucy is the tourist vacationing at a beach house on Prince Edward Island. Felix is the local who shows her a very good time. The only problem: Lucy doesnโ€™t know heโ€™s her best friendโ€™s younger brother. Lucy and Felixโ€™s chemistry is unreal, but the list of reasons why they need to stay away from each other is long, and they vow to never repeat that electric night again.

Itโ€™s easier said than done.

Each year, Lucy escapes to PEI for a big breath of coastal air, fresh oysters and crisp vinho verde with her best friend, Bridget. Every visit begins with a long walk on the beach, beneath soaring red cliffs and a golden sun. And every visit, Lucy promises herself she wonโ€™t wind up in Felixโ€™s bed. Again.

If Lucy canโ€™t help being drawn to Felix, at least sheโ€™s always kept her heart out of it.

When Bridget suddenly flees Toronto a week before her wedding, Lucy drops everything to follow her to the island. Her mission is to help Bridget through her crisis and resist the one man sheโ€™s never been able to. But Felixโ€™s sparkling eyes and flirty quips have been replaced with something new, and Lucyโ€™s beginning to wonder just how safe her heart truly is.

I just love Carley Fortune and the beautiful stories that she has written! Carley has a way of writing such captivating summer stories that steal your heart and leave you wanting more.

This Summer Will Be Different grabbed my attention from the start and I could not stop thinking about it anytime I put the book down. The dreamy coastal setting of Prince Edward Island where the book took place most of the time had me wanting to pack my bags and head to the island!

The journey of the two main characters, Lucy and Felix and the five years that led up to their relationship was such a fun story. The book went back and forth from present time to the past when Lucy and Felix had just met. I was obsessed with the instant spark and fire that shot between Lucy and Felix and loved that it continued on from day one.

The story heavily involved Lucyโ€™s friendship with Felixโ€™s sister, Bridget. Their friendship was truly something else and had me in tears many times as their friendship progressed over the years. I enjoyed reading about their support of one another and seeing how it never faded and only strengthened over the years.

The connections and the character developments in the book are some of my favorites that I have read and I absolutely loved the strength and depth that was witnessed on each page. The characters journeys and paths through the entire book were written perfectly and I truly enjoyed every second of this story.

Cozy summer read!

Iโ€™ve been wanting to get in a few summer reads before the season is over, & this one did not disappoint. Living in a small coastal town myself, I loved the setting & description of Prince Edward Island as it made me feel right at home. Lucy & Felix were the type of characters that are just easy to love, and the tension between them was perfect. Even though this was somewhat predictable & had some typical romance clichรฉs, it didnโ€™t stop me from enjoying it one bit. This was such a cute story filled with love, friendship, & the difficulties of adulthood. A perfect comfort read for summer.

Another really really cute book by Carley Fortune! I read this immediately after Every Summer After and just love her writing. This was a super fun and easy read and I was intrigued from the start. Even though much of this book involved sexual tension (lol), I thought she did a great job of including steamy scenes without overdoing it and taking away from the overall story. I loved it! Romance, friendship and other fun elements mixed in. Iโ€™d definitely recommend.

Perfection!

This book was absolute perfection. Carley Fortune planted herself in my heart with her first bookโ€”and her voice is everything I want and need in a romance. With this novel, she weaves a propulsive story of friendship and the secret one friend harbors over the blossoming relationship with her friend's brother over the span of time. Her descriptions are vivid but not overdone, giving me a clear understanding of what everyone looks like, feels, and what's visually happening in important scenes. I've never been to PEI, but after reading this, I want to visit after the glorious descriptions. I loved the characters, her ability to show the fervent longing, sexual tension, and scrambling that comes when it's released while still leaving plenty to the imagination. Carley's writing comes across as beautiful and effortless, and her knack for storytelling is spellbinding. I'd give more than five stars if they were available. Highly recommend, even if you don't :::love::: romance.

Absolutely loved! My favorite so far by this author!

I loved this book! While reading it gave me all the feels, the heart dropping angst, the fluttering of butterflies in my stomach, the giddy feeling with a big, dopey smile going across my face. Everything I need and require to make a romance a 5 star read for me!

I'm going to be honest here. I went in with a bit of trepidation when I picked this book up, because although I liked Every Summer After. Fortune's second book, Meet Me at The Lake, was just okay for me, so I didn't really know where this one was going to fall. I can easily say this one is my favorite by Fortune yet! It was perfect. Everything I wanted and then some!

I fell in love with the characters. I loved the female protagonist, Lucy, her love for flowers, running her own flower shop, and her dream of one day having her own cut flower farm. If I hadn't been so stressed out the last two weeks with my lack of success of my very own Floret Farm flower seeds that I direct sowed in my garden, I'd probably love the fact of how much Erin and her Floret Flower Farm was mentioned in this book. But that is an entire different matter. ๐Ÿ˜…

Then we get Felix. He was amazing. He was everything you'd want the male main character to be and more. I loved how this book started out. My jaw literally hit the floor, and then with the back and forth timeline of then and now really build this story up for me.

And lastly, the setting. Oh my gosh. The setting. ๐Ÿ˜ I had never even heard of Prince Edward Island (I had to look it up on the map), but Fortune's writing and the descriptions of this place makes me want to visit right away. It had me craving oysters and wanting that laid back, small town ocean vibe asap! This book would obviously be perfect by the water while you are enjoying your own vacation, but with the way Fortune writes about PEI, the food and drinks, etc, you could easily escape to this place straight on your couch at home. And really that's just what we all are looking for when we pick up a book, right?

I am really shocked the two romance books that released this spring and that I haven't expected much out of are so far some of my favorite reads this year, and for me that is a lesson to never write off an author or think you they can't give you something that you will absolutely love!

Lucy and Felix meet randomly one night when her best friends flight is delayed a day and sheโ€™s in Bridgetโ€™s home town by herself. Felix is schilling oysters at the restaurant he works at and when she walks in and they lock eyes sparks fly. They end up leaving together and having a mind blowing one night stand only to wake up the next morning and realize that Felix is her best friends brother. They make a pact not to tell Bridget and never do it again but each time Lucy comes back to the island theyโ€™re drawn together. The story goes back and forth between 5 years again when they met to now and how each summer when they canโ€™t resist each other builds and builds into love. The only flaw in those story was itโ€™s not spicy enough for me. But there is really good tension and Iโ€™m a sucker for a best friends brother/sneaking around trope. I love how supportive Felix is and how thoughtful he is. Like bringing them groceries before they even ask and making sure he has a snack bar in his truck because he knows she gets car sick. Heโ€™s literally the sweetest man and starts sketching her her flower farm before she even brings it up ๐Ÿฅน Such a good end of summer read!

I enjoyed the story itself. It was good. I disliked that chapters jumping from different timeframes so much, which is why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. Overall good book.

Fun Beach Read!

This book is fantastic for escaping reality and sending you to Prince Edward Island. The descriptions and details floored me. I could see the rich red earth, the emerald green of the fields, the salty air drenching your soul. I devoured each detail as quickly as possible. The characters fit in perfectly. Lucy the soul who needs to discover herself and where she belongs. Bridget is the best friend anyone can ask for. Her life may be in Toronto, but her heart is on PEI. Her brother Felix, aka Wolf. The man whose looks can stop any woman in her tracks. The blue of his eyes as enrapturing as the ocean. The perfect setting, phenomenally written characters, and a plot that keeps you reading at high rates of speed.

Bridget has three rules for Lucy when she is on PEI. The most important is to never fall in love with her brother. With that rule hanging over her head, she had no idea the type of fire Felix could start within her. She lives for their trips to the island to unwind, and to take in the best view...Felix. They stumbled across one another on Lucy's first trip to PEI, landing them tangled in his sheets. What she didn't know at the time was that he was Bridget's brother. Leaving her to bury her feelings and desires for him. Leaving her to compare every man she dates to him. Having her dream of a life where there are no rules. When Bridget disappears to the island days before her wedding, Lucy follows. Wanting to know what has left her together friend, drifting in the wind. As secrets are withheld and sparks fly, will their friendship hold?

This is such a fun read. I wanted to dive into a lobster roll, followed by fried clams, sitting on the dock overlooking the ocean. I loved how the story plays out. Keeping you on edge with the drama going on in Bridget's life, that she is holding onto. Making your mind run wild with possibilities. This is the perfect beach read.

Enjoyable read

The Canadian references make me want to drop everything and drive up. Lucy and Felix must hide their relationship from his sister Bridget. Fraternizing with her brother is one of Bridget main rules. That may seem, we find the reason behind her reticence and the story.

Throughout the book, we watch Lucy and Felix tried to keep a safe distance from one another. They make every attempt to keep their distance, but the passion between them rears its head more than once.

A good read with Characters that add dimension to the story. I looked forward to reading this as Carly Fortuneโ€™s other books are engaging.
