A Who-Done-It of the First Order!

An author on a book tour is murdered. As usual, the questions to be answered are who killed Columbia Jones and why. Is it the reporter who is interviewing her for a possible memoir? Is it her daughter Darien, who is also her publicist and the last person known to have seen her — when they argued in the hotel hall! Or…? Because as the reader will soon see, this famous, prolific, very loved author has not exactly led the life her publicity tells. There are secrets to be told, secrets that Columbia intended to tell her daughter in her own way, but now they will be brutally exposed as the case is investigated.

Ellison is a master of twisting, turning plots and this book is one of her very best. I love books that I could not guess the ending but was not tempted to check out the back pages before I get a third of the way through. This one held my attention all the way through, no checking the back.

My favorite thriller of 2024. I would've read it in one sitting if I didn't have to be responsible and get adequate sleep for the next day.

I enjoyed the unusual plot in this book. The author had such a vocabulary that I had to research some of the words and terms used. It was a good and quick read.

A Very Bad Thing by J.T. Ellison was gifted to us by @otrpr and you guys definitely need to read this one if you are a thriller lover! From the very first chapter this one had me hooked! Columbia Jones is a hugely successful author on tour for her newest book. There is a lot riding on this because her book is set to be released as a movie. While addressing her fans on her last night of the tour, a strange man stands up in the middle of her speech and they lock eyes before he walks out. Columbia is visibly shaken to those closest to her but no one knows why and no one could believe what would happen the very next day…Columbia is found dead in her bed! As the investigation unfolds, shocking events take place revolving around Columbia’s secret past. Secrets that even her daughter had no idea of…
