A Dark Why Choose Romance.

One wannabe writer from Brooklyn.

Three insanely hot billionaires.

One very indecent proposal.

West Archer, Ezekiel Cavanagh, and Xander King. AKA The Unholy Trinity. Ruthless. Ambitious. Intimidating.

With dark tastes and even darker desires, they’ve been searching for the perfect woman to fit into their unique lifestyle for over a decade. But despite their best efforts, none have made it past three months. Believing they’re destined to never find the one, they swear to stop looking.

Until they meet Lily.

There’s something about Lily Sloane, something that captivates all three of them. For the first time ever, it seems like they may have truly found the perfect fit. But as we all know, there is such a thing as too good to be true.

Lily Sloane isn’t the penniless girl from Brooklyn they think she is. And with a past full of secrets and lies that she’s trying to escape, the unholy trinity might have bitten off more than they can chew. When trust is broken, is there any way back?

The Perfect Fit is a dark why-choose MMFM romance with lots of angst, emotion, betrayal, and enough heat to melt your kindle. This book contains grumpy/sunshine, sword crossing, an epic grovel, and a HEA.

Content warnings include: CNC, knife play, blood play, primal play.

Prologue

WEST

It’s the crying I hear first, and I can’t help but sigh. Always the crying. This time it’s closely followed by the sound of footsteps thundering down the hallway. My concentration broken, I discard the magazine I was reading and glance across the room to Xander. Rolling his eyes, he pushes himself up from the sofa and goes to head her off so he can prevent another tantrum.

Xander’s always been her favorite—the one who could talk her down. I suspect she’s only stuck around for as long as she has because of him. However, I doubt even he can convince her to stay now. I must admit that with her experience and previous references, I thought she’d last longer than this, even if her presence has made the atmosphere in our penthouse increasingly tense.

Ebony—currently headed along the hall and into Xander’s waiting arms—is our latest test subject. Our guinea pig, as Zeke likes to call them. She’s lasted three months, which is longer than most. But that’s because Zeke has been on his best behavior for her. Until today. We warned her how he could be, and she swore she could handle it. Seems like she can’t.

She’s pulling one of Xander’s old hooded sweatshirts over her head when she comes into view, but I catch a glimpse of the bite marks and purple welts on her torso. “He’s a fucking animal,” she cries, wiping tears from her cheeks.

I grind my jaw, forcing myself to keep my mouth shut and let Xander handle this. He found her—it’s up to him to let her go. But Zeke is no animal. He has issues, sure, but don’t we all? Ebony included. Fuck me, does she have issues.

Xander whispers words of comfort in her ear, and she clings to him, her hands fisting in the fabric of his T-shirt even as he gives her his well-practiced speech about how it’s time for her to leave. He had such hope this one would work out. Not because he’s particularly attached to her, but because we swore she’d be the last one we attempted this with.

On paper, she seemed like the perfect fit. But no woman will ever come between Xander, Zeke, and me, although that hasn’t stopped every single one of them from trying.

Chapter One

LILY

“Hey! Watch it, jackass,” I shout at the disappearing taillights of the taxi that splashed freezing rainwater all over me. It’s the first week of April and the weather should start warming up any day now, but I’m still waiting. Betty—my bike—creaks as I cycle faster in an attempt to keep my rapidly numbing legs warm. I swear she’s going to completely give out on me one day soon.

“Just a few more weeks, baby,” I say quietly, giving the frame a gentle tap. “As soon as I get my big break, I’ll retire you.”

Turning right, I head toward Central Park. Where do tired old bicycles retire to anyway? The scrap heap? Not my Betty. I give her another reassuring pat on her handlebars. “Maybe you can be one of those bougie garden ornaments at some fancy house in the country,” I whisper as the imposing WXZ building comes into view.

In the lobby, I’m hit by a rush of warm air. Oh, that’s nice. Pulling off my helmet, I shake out my curls and sigh. I hate wearing this thing, but I love my undamaged brain more, so …

After parking Betty at a bike rack near the stairway, I open the zipper on my coat and study the fancy interior on my way to the reception desk. I’ve cycled past this building thousands of times and have always wondered what it looked like inside. It’s exactly how I imagined it would be. All glass and steel and marble. Cold and detached. Much like the three men who own it, I suspect.

A stern-looking man wearing a dark gray suit and a powder blue tie sits behind the desk, eyeing me as I approach. “Can I help you?”

I reach for the thick padded envelope in my backpack. “I have a delivery for Mr. Archer. It requires his signature.”

“I can take it to him,” someone says, walking up behind me.

I roll my eyes. If I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard that. Exactly what part of his signature do people not understand? I spin around. “It needs his …” Holy mother of fucknuggets. Did this guy just walk off a photoshoot for some fancy designer cologne? My jaw hangs open, the rest of the sentence caught in my mouth as I try not to drool.

He cocks an eyebrow at me, no doubt used to eliciting this kind of reaction from women. “It needs?”

“H-his …” I swallow the dreamy sigh that wants to roll from my lips. Straightening my shoulders, I tilt my chin and look him in the eyes, which has to be safer than staring at that chiseled jaw. “Signature.”

One corner of his mouth curls up, and damn if it doesn’t make him look even more handsome. “I can sign it on his behalf.” He holds out his hand, and I tighten my grip on the white envelope. I tilt my head, studying his features more thoroughly now that I’ve grown somewhat accustomed to his presence—as accustomed as any straight, red-blooded woman could be, anyway. “Are you Mr. Archer?”

That half smile turns into a full-on smirk, and my knees almost buckle. How does this man get through everyday life looking like he does? Do women just drop their panties when he walks past them in the street? “No. But trust me when I tell you that he won’t mind me signing for his papers.” He edges closer until he’s invading my personal space, not so much that it would appear obvious, but just enough that I feel it. In every single part of my body. He smells good too. What is that? Cologne? Or maybe he just naturally smells as good as he looks because the stars were in perfect alignment the day he was born.

“So?” he asks, reminding me that he’s waiting for my answer.

I want to clear my throat so I can be sure my voice won’t come out in a squeak, but that would clue him in on the effect he has on me. I’ll be damned if I let this arrogant, good-looking stranger think he has me rattled. “It requires Mr. Archer’s signature,” I reply, my voice surprisingly calm and steady despite my trembling knees.

He laughs softly.

“Can you tell me where I’ll find him?”

He runs one hand over his jaw, his narrowed eyes searching my face like he’s assessing whether I’m worthy enough to meet the great West Archer. Like I’d even want to meet that heartless douchebag by choice. I’d rather deliver his package inside a flaming bag of dog turds than hand it to him myself, but this is my job and it’s the only one I have—for now. So, what is this guy’s deal?

After the longest few seconds of my life, Hot Guy finally speaks. “Sure, I’m headed to his office myself. I’ll show you the way.” He inclines his head toward the elevators, then turns and walks away. With a quick glance at the guy behind the desk, who nods his approval, I fall into step beside Hot Guy.

We step inside the elevator a few moments later, and he leans against the back wall, hands splayed out on either side of him, gripping the polished chrome handrail. The elevator is bigger than the kitchen I ate my breakfast in this morning, but he still manages to dominate the entire space. I stand in the corner, as far from him as possible, and try to ignore the way he’s watching me, his blue eyes twinkling with amusement.

A flush creeps over my cheeks as I become painfully aware of my appearance. The left leg of my jeans and the bottom of my thick coat is soaking wet. I’ve cycled twenty-eight miles today and this is my last stop, so no doubt my hair is at peak crazy. In sharp contrast, he’s groomed to perfection. Clean shaven. Sandy blond hair, styled within an inch of its life. His white shirt is crisp and crease-free. He wears an impeccably tailored suit and the finest leather shoes. I might be penniless right now, but I have plenty of experience with the finer things in life and enough knowledge of men like this one here to know that he has the kind of wealth that makes him untouchable. It also makes women like me easily dispensable.

My skin grows hot under his gaze. “For a place this fancy, you’d think they’d have better security.” I say, the need to take back control of the situation too strong for me to ignore.

His brow furrows in a slight frown. “Huh?”

I offer a casual shrug. “I mean I could be anyone. I could have all kinds of nasty stuff in this envelope here.” I hold it up to emphasize my point.

He pushes himself off the wall, and in one step he’s standing right in front of me. “Are you anyone, Lily?” My name rolls off his tongue like a raindrop from a leaf.

“H-how do you know my n-name?”

He glances down at my chest, which heaves with the effort of breathing. “It’s on your ID badge.”

My gaze follows his and intense relief washes over me. Of course it is.

“And do you have any nasty stuff in that envelope of yours?” His voice takes on a completely different tone, one that makes me regret saying that. His whole demeanor has shifted.

Dear god, I can’t breathe. If smiley Hot Guy was hot, then growly Hot Guy with a hint of danger is pure fire. I shake my head, making my curls bounce around my shoulders. “Just papers.”

He gives me a satisfied smile and steps back, his eyes locked on mine as he returns to his position against the rail.

Great Book

Holy crap, this book was… I don't even have the words to describe how I feel about this book. Good isn't the right word. Great seems not to be the right fit. Amazingly perfect now that's the perfect fit. Lily, West, Zeke, and Xander really are the perfect fit for each other. This book is filled with a lot of emotions. It will have you laughing, crying, swooning, smiling, frowning, scowling, and even make you a bit angry, at least for me it did. I really didn't like the miscommunication in this book but that's okay because the guys more than made up for it.

Lily is sweet, yet you know there is more than meets the eye about her. Zeke is so dominant and boy oh boy does he pull it off very well. He is definitely a top. West is also very dominant and while he pulls it off he is so sweet and loving. Xander is a bottom and a brat but man did I love him. I really connected well with Xander because well I can also be a bit of a brat. I really loved all of the characters in this book and it really was a wonderful read. I honestly haven't read any MM romances and the MMF ones I have read there weren't much MM other than kissing and maybe a little fooling around but nothing like this book. There was so much MM action happening in this book that it pulled me into another world and I'm so thankful for that. This book is a great way to explore somethings you have been thinking about reading but not entirely sure you want to read a full story about. Dom/sub, MM, MMF, MMMF. MF it has it all. There is something for everyone in this book with a wide variety of kinks as well, for example one of my favorites primal.

I think that it is no surprise that I loved this book as much as I did. I think we all know Sadie is one of my favorite authors. She is so kind and caring, and she writes so incredibly well. Honestly I can not say how good her writing style is. She gives such great descriptions and really pulls you into the story. There is great character development, a few secrets, and a whole lot of spice. She gives the characters great chemistry, tension, and makes sure that once you pick up a book by her that you don't want to and can't put it down.

Sadie Kincaid's latest standalone novel, "The Perfect Fit," is a captivating exploration of love, choices, and self-discovery in why choose romance. With a solid 4.5-star rating and a spice level of 3.5, this novel effortlessly weaves together a compelling plot, excellent character development, and a dash of unexpected twists that leave readers yearning for more.

One of the standout features of "The Perfect Fit" is the impeccable character development. Kincaid intricately crafts the journey of four main characters – Zeke, West, Xander, and Lily – as they navigate the complex terrain of love and relationships. Each character undergoes significant growth throughout the novel, making them relatable and endearing to readers.

Zeke, the brooding bad boy with a mysterious past, is a character that will undoubtedly capture the hearts of readers. Kincaid skillfully peels back the layers of Zeke's persona, revealing a depth and vulnerability that adds a rich texture to the story. As he grapples with his demons, readers will cheer for Zeke's redemption and newfound happiness.

West, the charming and intense "leader," provides a delightful contrast to Zeke's intensity. The evolution of West's character is a joy to witness, as he discovers the true meaning of love and commitment. Kincaid adeptly explores the dynamics of his relationships, creating a character arc that is both satisfying and heartwarming.

Xander, the golden retriever with a heart of gold, adds another layer of complexity to the narrative. His introspective journey into the intricacies of love and desire is thought-provoking and emotionally resonant. Readers will appreciate the authenticity of Xander's character as he confronts his faults and insecurities.

Lily, the story's central character, is a strong and independent woman navigating the challenges of multiple romantic interests and a dark past. Kincaid masterfully portrays Lily's internal struggles, creating a nuanced and empowering portrayal of a woman unapologetically exploring her desires and choices.

The novel's plot is well-crafted and engaging, with Kincaid skillfully balancing the romantic elements with unexpected twists. The author's ability to keep readers on the edge of their seats while delivering a satisfying and emotionally resonant resolution is commendable. The plot twists, in particular, are a highlight, injecting a dose of unpredictability that elevates the story to new heights.

The spice level in "The Perfect Fit" is a solid 3.5, adding an irresistible edge to the romance without overshadowing the emotional depth of the characters. Kincaid tastefully weaves intimate moments into the narrative, enhancing the connection between the characters without resorting to gratuitous scenes.

The only minor drawback is the desire for more; the plot twists leave readers hungry for additional chapters that explore the aftermath of the revelations. This craving for more is a testament to Kincaid's ability to create a world and characters that readers invest in and care deeply about.

"The Perfect Fit" by Sadie Kincaid is a standout standalone why choose romance that ticks all the boxes. With exceptional character development, a well-crafted plot, and a satisfying spice level, this novel is a must-read for fans of the genre. Kincaid's storytelling prowess is on full display, making "The Perfect Fit" a delightful and memorable addition to the world of contemporary romance.

Melty goodness!!

Whew this book was fire!!! I love a good why choose and this one had all the elements I can’t get enough of: growly alphaholes, feisty FMC, group activities, relationships within the group to include MF and MM, swoony moments, k!nks, heartbreak, mystery, and all the smu++y deliciousness!

I did combo read/audio for this book and it was one of the best audios I’ve heard! It’s duet narrated by 4 amazing artists, all of which will be added to my list of top narrators!

West, Xander, Zeke are best friends who own a media conglomerate and have a tight relationship with each other. They like to partake in a contracted partnership with a female, and the last ones have just not measured up.

Lily has a past full of secrets and when she delivers mail to WXZ has a “meet cute” with Zeke and Xander before coming face to face with West after 14 years, though he doesn’t know her or how she knows him. A night at the club and too much champagne later leads her to becoming the Unholy Trinity’s next partner.

Little did any of them know how fast and hard they would all fall for each other over the next several months. Lily is exactly what each of them need and they realize how perfect she is. How she sees the real them, the dark and twisty, the hurt and comfort, the way the guys love one another but also her with every fiber of their being.

When things get a little rocky and secrets threaten to tear them apart, I felt every bit of their heartbreak and cried along with Lily. I felt all the rage she had after the Unholy Trinity shut her out, and I couldn’t get enough of the makeup after the groveling! I absolutely loved the dynamics of the four of them together and this book has some of the best smexy scenes!!

I loved the balance of spice and plot too. There were plenty of oh crap moments and surprises along the way! I completely devoured this book and left no crumbs!! Highly recommend!!
