Addie: Reverse Harem Shifter Romance (Pack of Misfits)

4.3 out of 5

4,616 global ratings

I live with a pack of misfit shifters.

Freaks. Rogues. Oddballs. Prey. Runts. Deformed. We're all welcome in Pack Aberrant. We aren't going to be winning any popularity contests, but our hodgepodge bunch is more loyal than even the strongest pred packs. I should know. I grew up in one of them.

As soon as they realized I was different, I was despised, even by my own family. So I left, joined Pack Aberrant, and I've steered clear of alpha pred assholes ever since.

Until my heatwave hits, and I accidentally jump three coyote shifters in a parking lot.

Whoopsie.

Once they realize what my animal is, they're gonna kick me to the curb just like every other pred shifter has. And my old pack? They come back to haunt me. I'm unwanted by the three hotties, threatened by my old pack, and to top it all off, I have to find a new job because I attacked a bank robber. Accidentally.

Being a misfit really sucks sometimes.

Author's Note: Addie's story is book one in the Pack of Misfits, which is a series of shifter romances. Every book will be a stand-alone for that character, but a continuation of the Pack Aberrant story. Book one is a reverse harem with multiple love interests with the main character. However, this is not a reverse harem series. Some main characters in this series will have monogamous relationships. *This is intended for ages 18 and older due to sexual content and strong language.

I love Raven Kennedy. She writes amazing books. This book was sweet and I loved all the characters. I just wish the story line would not just tie the loose ends up so quick at the end.

Very cute and funny. I love the prey shifters in this book. They were unique and totally unexpected. This is not a serious book, but that does not mean it was bad. No it was a perfect mixture of sass and drama. I still liked the cupid series better, but this is a close second. I thought the cover meant something different when I bought it, but afterwards, it was like serendipity!!

I loved every duck pun and everything in between

Addie is a duck shifter who grew up in a predator pack and was basically run out at the age of 15. Hugo took her into his pack of misfits and there is where she finished growing into a her awesomeness. She meets three guys and accidentally initiates a mate bond. Can predators and prey make it work?

I freaking laughed the whole time. All of the puns were so funny and were thrown out at perfect times.

This was a quick read for me and I really loved all of the characters. I am a huge fan of multiple POVs and reading from the men’s POV is usually my favorite but Addie was so funny, she by far was my favorite. I also really loved her relationship with Hugo. I am hoping in later books Hugo gets a mate, cause a father figure like that needs a queen by his side.

Definitely recommend to read.

Are you looking for a pallet cleanser or lighter read that still has some angst? Here’s your next book!

This is a refreshing take on a shifter romance. For one, none of the MCs are Alphas, but three coyote enforcers. They accidentally mate with a duck shifter, Addie, and then reject her.

I loved: Addie isn’t a pushover. She respects herself and walks away and stays away. The harem go crawling back to her. There is grovel, although we always want more I was ok with the amount. The humor! It’s LOL There’s not much spice, but it’s good when it happens.

Addie is beyond Amazing

I really and truly adore every single thing about this book. I love that it’s a standalone but still builds up a new world that the author can (and likely will) expand on. I enjoyed the constant banter, the super steamy scenes that made me want my own heat waves of wonder, the shifters who don’t fit in anywhere and yet have built this epic and loyal family despite all the prejudice and chaos in their world and I completely fell heart first for Addie’s harem.

This story is hilarious. Raven is so fantastic at creating these rom-coms that also have real substance. You laugh and then things get angsty or smoking hot and suddenly she’s got you strapped in on some crazy hormonal rollercoaster that you have absolutely no control over and yet... you can’t help but love it. That’s what this author does, she delivers. Hilarity, drama, passion and true love are all main components of this absolute treasure of a story. It won’t disappoint and it’s sure to deliver a fresh storyline full of awesomeness.

I would call Addie: Pack of Misfits an absolute delight and a real must read for RH lovers. I look forward to seeing what happens to the large group of outcasts, I’m positive each story will be as remarkable and charming as this one was.

Fun and Unique

I’ve actually read Addie a few times now, it’s actually one of my go to palate cleanser reads. I find this book to be great for an easy read, with a lot of good laugh out loud moments, but still maintaining enough of a story to be interesting. I actually really love the idea behind this world, that Addie is a member of a pack of misfits, the shifters that don’t belong to “prey” species like wolves and bears, etc. I love the idea behind a shifter who turns into a duck or a snake, or a shifter with disabilities. And that they have all found each other and banded together to become stronger is even better. I love the dynamics of this pack so much, they really feel more like family than anything else. I love the way they treat the members of their pack, as everyone being capable and equal. The “pred” pack in this book is the worst, I hate everything about them, and felt deeply uncomfortable when they showed up, but it’s best to be left for your reading. Addie ends up with three mates who are all predatory species, and well to say they are surprised that they ended up with a duck would be an understatement. I love how badly everyone deals with this situation and how funny the antics they end up in are. I have a visual of a duck flying at someone as well as a duck in a bathtub that never cease to make me laugh out loud. There are so spicy scenes in here that are definitely hot and heavy, but the storyline is pretty detailed so it’s not like all encompassing. I have to say I really enjoyed the balance of this book. I have no doubt that this book will continue to be one of my palate cleanser books when I need something to read that I know I will like.

I loved the whole concept of this series, it was really cool to see another type of shifter (besides a wolf) as the main character and nice to find an interconnected stand-alone series. Super fun read and I’ve already downloaded the next book.

Addie, the FMC, lives with a pack comprised of shifters who have all found a welcoming home in Pack Aberrant, also called the Misfit Pack.

The story heats up when Addie unexpectedly goes into heat around male shifters she doesn't really know.

The characters are well-developed and highly relatable. The plot is page turnimg, with a good balance of action, romance, and a little humor.

Addictive!

I am in my Raven Kennedy era right now and all I want to do is read her books. I am mentally preparing myself for the release of Goldfinch. If you ever need another early reader @ravenkennedybooks I am your girl!

Last night, and well into this morning, I read the first in the Pack of Misfits series: Addie. I could not stop reading this book and definitely fell into the meme you often see where 1 more chapter turns into an all-nighter.

Addie is, by pack definition, a misfit. The animal that she changes into is not one of the normal species that you find in shifter books. And I found that to be a huge bonus. This helped guide the story along as we see what that really means in the pack system and perception. I don’t want to give her animal away just yet because it could mess with your opinion of this book. Let me just say that it was unexpected but fun.

She meets three shifters who are on the lookout for a new pack. This is also a plot changer in the books because their decision to find a new pack determines their interactions with Addie. There are moments that you want to shake them or hit them over the head but overall its sort of expected because that’s how society perceives her species.

This book was hilarious, spicy, and a fun read. I did not want to put this down and that led to me staying up way past my bed time. This is a book that you will want to finish right away. Please plan accordingly or you will wake up tired, like me.

I am not a fan of the star ranking system because my opinion and rankings are not the same as others. I highly recommend this book to others. Please note that this is an adult book and it does have spice.

Sped read.

The opening third was brilliant. I giggled quite a bit even through the more serious parts. After that, I started page hopping hoping something interesting would happen.

If you enjoy cutesie shifter books, this one is right up your alley. Nothing super dramatic, a couple things that COULD be triggering (but honestly, written in a light hearted way). Very high found family is stronger than blood story lines.
